FTC Announces Settlement with Tax Prep Service Over Financial Privacy and Security Violations
The FTC and online tax preparation service TaxSlayer have settled a case in which hackers were allegedly able to access nearly 9,000 of the company's customer accounts in late 2015, which they used to file fraudulent tax returns in their names.
