DHS Cybersecurity Mission Facing Real Challenges

As the Department of Homeland Security’s cybersecurity responsibilities continue to expand, the agency is beginning to show signs that it may not have the resources to keep up. DHS is making progress on initiatives intended to protect federal networks, but key cyber leadership jobs remain open, the hiring process for cyber professionals is slow, and the enterprise cybersecurity strategy is six months late.
