Federal Government Contractor Fined for Super PAC Contribution

The Federal Election Commission has fined a federal contractor for making $200,000 in contributions to a Super PAC that supported a candidate in the 2016 presidential election, marking the first time the commission has levied such a fine against a government contractor.  While the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United sparked debate on the matter, federal contractors are still banned from making contributions to federal candidates and PACs.
