4 Trends Driving More Suspension, Debarment of Vendors
In an interview with Federal News Radio, Shepperd Mullin partner Jonathan Aronie discusses recent trends in federal suspension and debarment activity, and suggests the recent lull in S&D actions may be nearing an end. “I noticed in my experience that I was seeing suspension and debarment in places I had not seen them before, like at the end of a routine False Claims Act case. I’ve found it to be more likely to get a show cause letter than it used to be the case,” Aronie remarked. In reviewing recent S&D data, Aronie found that the chance a contractor will receive a show cause letter is likely to increase when there are stories in the media, when a firm suffers a data breach, or when there are FCA settlements.
