2021 False Claims Act Year in Review

In her annual review of False Claims Act enforcement, Jessica Sanderson describes the DOJ's numbers for fiscal year 2021 as “astounding.” She argues that the FCA's second-highest recovery amount and second-highest number of matters initiated show that the DOJ under secretary Merrick Garland was intent on addressing FCA matters and applying serious penalties.
